Dear sisters and brothers,

Good Morning

It is my great pleasure to attend this
meaningful ceremony on behalf of the Republic of Türkiye.

Today,
we are going to hand-over twenty houses and household kits and relief packages
for hundred and fifty families.What
we have accomplished here, constitutes the most
meaningful work of ours, among the humanitarian development projects Türkiye
has been pursuing for Cambodia. I hope
our modest contribution - a
token of our friendship-will
serve to relieve and ease the lives
of at least some of our Cambodian brothers and sisters.

I would like
to express my gratitude to TİKA,Turkish Cooperation and Coordination
Agency-the official agency of the Turkish Government, which coordinates all
development, technical and humanitarian assistance of Türkiye around the world,
in cooperation with Governments, local authorities or relevant institutions in
partner countries. At the heart of this endeavour lies Türkiye’s own expertise
and experience. As a development partner, Türkiye shares what we have with
other nations, in a spirit of solidarity.

I would also like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation
notably to H.E. Prak Sokhonn – who honored us with his presence; H.E. Ouch
Borith, H.E. Chem Widhya, and every officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
and International Cooperation for their dedicated work and supporting approach;
which made it possible for us to realize this contribution.

As TIKA and the Turkish Embassy in Phnom Penh, we are very pleased
to be working with these distinguished people. Our cooperation and work will
progressively continue.

As we highly value the friendship of Cambodia and strengthening of the ties
of this friendship by all means, the support for today’s project was actually
agreed on long ago, during one of the previous visits of TİKA delegations.
However, due to the unforeseen difficulties imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic
since the beginning of 2020, it has taken quite a while to achieve this
hand-over. Yet, I am very happy that
now we are able to have this ceremony, after all the extraordinary conditions
we faced for two years.

The past two years
have had their own unique challenges for every country, organization and
individual. However, it has also been a time filled with examples of increased
cooperation and mutual support in overcoming these challenges as well. More
than ever, with the pandemic, it is evident that global challenges require
globally coordinated actions in order to make a real impact. We once again realized
how much we need each other. I would also
like to take this opportunity to commend the swift action of Cambodian authorities in
taking necessary safety measures at an early stage of this health crisisas
well as comprehensive economic and social relief measures, to
ease the burden of its citizens and the exemplary vaccination campaign held
throughout the country.

I would like
to thank you once again for being with us today and hope that these houses will
be remembered as another example of the friendly relations and strong
cooperation between Türkiye and Cambodia.

In conclusion,
let me extend my best wishes on this very important occasion for continued
prosperity of the Turkish and Cambodian people.
